Our all new LSX series of amplifiers are the result of over a year of intense engineering to be able to release what I feel are the absolute best amplifiers on the market in this segment. Countless weeks and months trying to improve every area of these amplifiers, was intense and ultimately rewarding once completed. To start, we always divide the amplifier into 4 sections i.e. Power Supply, Output section, Pre-amp and Housekeeping voltages. Ultimately, every part selected perfectly matched the needs of each section. MOSFETS are not just MOSFETS! Controlling shoot-thru voltage spikes and finding the perfect balance between lower on-resistance with high voltage and amperage capabilities, was quite challenging. Amperage rating versus heat-dissipation are two of the main reasons for amplifier failures today. As I begin to release these new models, I can look back with confidence that we made the right choices. Small size cannot be the main criteria. “Small is great but reliability is a must”. The MMATS brand is 29 years strong with many of our products built in our Jupiter factory. I believe our biggest advantage in the Car Audio market today is being able to repair our amplifiers in- house with 2 to 3 day turns, not months with a whole bunch of excuses.
